On February 14, 2018, the United States of American experienced another mass school shooting tragedy when a gunman opened fire at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida killing seventeen students and injuring several more. Through the work of the PA&ER Committee, the NAPDS endorsed The Interdisciplinary Group on Preventing School and Community Violence’s Call for Action to Prevent Gun Violence in the United States of America joining over 100 organizations in support of preventing school violence.
